Lea Joakim Svendby (they, them, b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans around painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. Svendby challenges societal norms, inviting viewers to confront the concept of “outsiderness.” Their work provokes reflection on identity and the pressures to conform, while simultaneously pushing against the boundaries of artistic expression.

In the exhibition "fuck your style, its boreing like my life", Svendby aims to unsettle those who believe they have found their "style" or place in the world. They reject fixed definitions, resisting the idea of being confined by expectations or boxed into categories. For Svendby, the search for freedom is tied to unpredictability.

“I hope I never find a style,” they declare, demanding liberation both from societal conventions and personal expectations. This rebellious energy is grounded in an impulse to reject labels and rules, even as it manifests playfully through bursts of frustration and irony. The work echoes their statement: “I am a child that doesn’t listen to grown-ups… stop being boring, stop being old.”

Svendby’s artistic journey is one of questioning and dismantling, a refusal to settle. By embracing chaos and discomfort, they create a space where unpredictability reigns, where art serves as a platform for raw self-expression and critique of societal complacency.

With the title (fuck your style, its boreing like my life) I aim to provoke the people that have found they're style. Me, I hope I never finde (a) style. I wanna be free, free, free palestine.
Please dont put me in a cage or a box or noting like that. When you start to expect something from me, I will do the unexpected. I am a child that don't listenen to grown ups, stop beeing boring, stop being old, stop beating your pet, stop being hetro, dont stop on red light, don't do this, don't do that, why even listen when everyone don't seem to care, fuck you are boreing, stop being boreing, shit you are boreing, i love boreing, fuck being boreing, i wanna be boreing, give me boreing, EVERYBODY ARE SO BORING!!
